Editorial policy and corrections
Every claim comes from a named source. We use AI to help outline and draft, and a separate reviewer checks every article against its sources before it goes public. If we get something wrong, we fix it and say so.
Sources
Each article lists its sources and the date we checked them. We prefer official agencies and primary documents. When two official sources disagree, we say so on the page.
Our lens
We weigh what is practical, what it costs and what it means for the land and water. We value conservation, habitat restoration and regenerative practices, and we stand by them. We keep them out of the facts. Sourced facts and our own calculations come first. Our advice is labeled as ours. Where people disagree, we give each side's reasons. More on the about page.
How AI is used
We use modern resources and technology, including AI, to help us outline and draft. Facts, numbers and rules are traced to a source before publishing. A separate reviewer checks every article before it goes public, and a person oversees the work.
Listings and money
The directory lists businesses. A listing is not a recommendation. We have not hired the businesses or checked their work. If paid placement is ever added, it will be labeled Featured or Sponsored, and it will not change what we write.
Product links
We do not take money for what we write or for links.
Corrections
If you find an error, tell us with the "Something wrong on this page?" link at the bottom of any page. We correct it, change the date at the top, and note what changed at the bottom of the article.
